Y7 Clay Warriors

Year 7 Art have been working with clay and creating their own warrior over the past few weeks
In art currently year 7 students have been getting a little messy trying their hands at sculpting with clay.
The classes started by learning about the terracotta warriors and then expanded the concept of warrior to look at Chinese, Maori, Roman and Japanese Warriors.
Throughout these sessions students had to persevere through difficulties including keeping the clay wet enough to mould, working on a small scale especially with facial features and making sure that everything was stuck together with slip (acts like a glue). All of the students have worked incredibly hard on their warriors and done a fantastic job.
