Message from the Principal

It has been an excellent start to our new year. Thank you to all staff and students for such an enjoyable week.

Energy and excitement. We've had both in bucketloads this week as everyone starts the new school year. I have been hugely impressed with the cooperation and kindness displayed by our students. It has made for a very settled and happy start.

On the first day I spoke to the school about four key values that will help create the environment that we all seek for our children. They also relate to attitudes and expectations in building confident and resilient young people.

The values we discussed were perseverance, excellence, respect and kindness. These values will be expressed through attitudes and action and classes are discussing how the values look, feel and sound at Balmacewen. As mentioned we have made an excellent start on this and will continue to build on these ideas throughout the year.

I invite you all to our "Meet the teacher", evening Wednesday 10 February 7.00pm. Please meet in the school hall.

As always, please contact me if I can help in any way.

Kind Regards

Andrew Hunter
