Black Fern 7's Team Visit Balmac

We were very lucky to have 3 Black Fern 7's players come to school today to talk about their recent success at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup.

On the 1st August Balmacewen Intermediate were very fortunate to have Kelly Brazier, Tenika Willison and Alena Saili visit our school.

Kelly, Tenika and Alena shared their experiences of their successful World Series Campaigns, Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and recently the Sevens Rugby World Cup.

We heard about what makes their team so successful as well as playing a quiz game to find the Ultimate Sevens Champion.

It was fantastic to have Kelly back at Balmacewen. Kelly was a past student of Balmacewen and was fantastic for our students to see the amazing success that a Balmacewen student has had since leaving school.

After our assembly some of our girls stayed behind to have Q and A time and to take some photos with the girls, and they even got to hold their World Cup and Commonwealth Games medals.

Our hosts Lara and Anya received a Black Ferns Jersey from the girls as a thank you.

A massive thank you to New Zealand Rugby, Alena, Kelly and Tenika for giving up their time to come along to Balmacewen.
