Welcome back to Term Three!

We hope everyone has had a fantastic break and everyone had an opportunity to relax and enjoy time with friends and family. We head back to school with another very busy and active term planned.

Our new term topic is called IMPACT. Our big questions are - What impact do we have on the environment? How can we/I make a difference.? We will be looking at a range of activities such as our carbon footprint, global issues, with a major term focus on Plastics - and the impact they have on our environment. The students will be  conducting an inquiry PBL into plastics and trying to come up with some solutions to the problem - under the heading of Think Globally, Act Locally... can we make a difference in our own environment - home and school. We have planned a number of activities such as the art gallery, a visit to the landfill, a trip to the ecosanctuary and a Year 8 Impact teaching week to highlight some of these issues. In Literacy we will be looking at persuasive writing and speeches.

This term we also have the school cross county in Week 3, athletics sports in Week 10 as well as a number of students in the Production which will be performed in Week 10 also.

We look forward to seeing students continue to apply themselves in the classroom programmes and to making the most of extra -curricular opportunities as they arise as well as continuing to show leadership in and around the school.
