Year 8 Fabrics

Our first Year 8 classes have finished in Fabrics and moved onto Foods. Check out the photos to see some of their hard mahi.

Their first unit was to use their machine and hand sewing skills to create a heat bag and cover for a stakeholder of their choice. Many had to problem solve and adjust their initial ideas so their outcomes could function. He tino pai rawa tō mahi!

Screen printing was our second unit. Their design brief said that one of their prints needed to represent their new Balmacewen House. I wonder if you can recognise which prints ( in the photos ) met the brief.

I was impressed with many of our Year 8 ākonga for showing a growth mind set when learning a range of new skills.
