Year 8 Screen Prints

This is often a highlight of our Year 8 Fabrics programme.

Students are encouraged to choose a design that will allow them to challenge their tracing and cutting skills. Some artistic students take this even further and draw their own design!

Our stencils are handmade using mylar and a variety of cutting tools. The students quickly understand the importance of taking their time to make precise cuts. They certainly have many opportunities to demonstrate perseverance when aiming for their best work. Students use their resources, watch demonstrations and work closely with a learning partner to set up their print stations. This unit allows students to develop their independence. It is so awesome seeing their faces when they lift their screens to reveal the prints they have created!

Well done to all of our Year 8 Screen Printers who challenged themselves and produced a great outcome.
