Toitū Otago Settlers Museum and the Chinese Garden visit

Today we had a great trip down to Toitu Otago Settlers Museum and the Chinese Garden.
The trip started with Sean Brosnahan giving us an engaging and insightful description of life of early Maori in the Otago area. It was great to hear some local stories and see some relevant artifacts and exhibits. With our educator, Sara Sinclair, we examined the class' ancestry (which we found out is quite varied) and explored the museum in groups during a research activity.
The trip was topped off with a visit to the Chinese Garden, which looked magnificent under the clear Dunedin sky.
Many thanks to Sean and Sara, plus our parent helpers Mel and Claire.
