Camp – Moment in Time

As the creamy yellow paddle glided into the smooth dark water, the feeling of water surging underneath the sleek sky blue Kayak. Chugging through the icy water, sliding around corners into the mouth of the deep, dark slow moving creek. Slowly and steadily heading upstream, the sweet sound of birds singing fills my ears along with the peaceful lap of water. Keeping my head down to keep it away from hanging branches, paddling through watercress with water and plants flipping into my boat. Eventually a waterfall comes into view. Stabbing my paddle into the water I pivot the vessel around and start powering downstream. Unable to stop, I get caught under an overhanging gorse bush, struggling to get free I have to be pushed out by another kayak, finally being pushed out by the slow current into the lake. Peacefully paddling around the lake, and finally sliding up the boat ramp.
