Year 7 News

We are very proud of how our students are working as we head towards the end of the year. Classroom programmes continue to focus on the ARTS with "participate" our theme we are working on. Activities involve music, drama, readers theatre, dance and photography. We were also impressed with how many of our Year 7 students took part in production and last week presented two amazing shows at Otago Boys High School. Well done to all involved who displayed the school values of perseverance and excellence to get there after many weeks of hard work in practices.
In class we have also been looking at ensuring we finish the end of the year well with our Balmac way focusing on teamwork, leadership and self control. Many of our students are looking ahead to next year where they will be stepping up as the new Year 8 leaders in our school. This can be shown in many ways with formal roles and responsibilities around the school with school council, house leaders and librarians, roles within the class such as PE monitors and we are always looking for Year 8 students to be role models and show leadership in our playgrounds.
Over the next few weeks we will be finishing our PBL focus in our classes, completing our storytelling/narrative writing skills and taking part in end of year activities such as our tabloid sports day and class celebrations.
