Year 7 news

It has been an exciting and busy week for our new Balmac pupils. They have their stationery, their PE uniform, they are signing up to sports, technology classes have started and it is all go!
This term for our Year 7 pupils, learning is based around the concept of Belonging to a community and the roles and responsibilities within our communities. All of our visits outside of the classroom link into this theme also. All classes will be walking the Pineapple Track in preparation for a three day camp at Waihola and we are visiting Toitu and the Chinese Gardens As always for these trips to occur we need parental involvement, so keep an eye out for an email requesting help on these trips.
We also have our school Powhiri on Friday 19th February at 9am that will bring the whole Balmacewen Whanau together as one. You are welcome to attend and be part of this very special occasion.
It is fabulous to see many Year 7 pupils signing up for sports and taking home notices for music lessons, volunteering to be their class librarian or PE monitors - this is one way to become involved in many of the opportunities that are available to Balmacewen pupils.
We are really looking forward to meeting you at the meet the teacher evening on Wednesday and running through our class expectations and programmes and developing positive home-school relationships.
As always, please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions or queries.
