Fairplay cup assembly and student achievements

What a busy term it has been for the students at Balmacewen. Our students have been involved in a variety of sports this term. It has been great to see students challenge themselves by giving different sports a go. All of this wouldn't be possible without our volunteer coaches and managers. A massive thank you for all your support you give to Balmacewen Intermediate.

Fairplay cup

Well done to Ethan T for winning the fair play cup for term 4 and our runners up Indi T and Aiden K.

The Fairplay cup is a tradition at Balmacewen celebrating students showing the school values at school and when playing sport.

Otago Athletics

We had 98 students competing at Otago Athletics Championships on Tuesday 19th November. A shout out to Mason Fowler who broke the under 12 shot put record throwing 10.930m and Liam Grey for breaking the 13 & Over High Jump record jumping 1.58m. Well done to all our students who participated and placed at their chosen events.

Otago Intermediate Golf Championships

On Friday 22nd November Henry Partly, Fletcher Ewing, Tommy Cadman and Mason Fowler played in the Otago Golf Championships held in Lawrence. They played an ambrose format finishing up 1 under par and taking home the trophy. Well done to these boys for winning the tournament.

Southland Adventure Race

On Wednesday Lyra Stephens, Talia Hargreaves, Penelope Hodgson and Mia Kennedy competed in the Southland Adventure race held out at Sandy point in Invercargill. The race included Kayaking, Mountain biking, trekking and navigation. The girls did extremely well pushing themselves out of their comfort zone spending 5 hours out on the course. This is an event we hope to continue to compete in.
