More super sewing outcomes have been flying out of our Fabrics room!

Our second rotation of Year 7 students will have brought home their fabulous cushions and perhaps a hacky sack.

All akonga have made pleasing progress learning to set up their sewing machine. Each session they have had time to practise their new skills and this has led to a lot of confidence.

Our cushions are 'fit for purpose' because they are comfortable and decorative. We have considered our primary stakeholder when making our fabric choices. See some great examples in the photo gallery.

You may have seen a hacky sack or two come home. These were made by students who had good time management meaning they had completed their first outcome ahead of time.

Hacky Sack, also known as Footbag, is a modern, non-competitive American sport that involves kicking a bean bag and keeping it off the ground for as long as possible. It was invented in 1972 by John Stalberger and Mike Marshall of Oregon City, Oregon as a fun, challenging way to exercise.

Some Year 7's had the chance to try them out when the sun was shining. They improvised and made up a variety of games using them.

Be proud of your hand made outcomes and skill development. I look forward to teaching you again, later in the year.
