Year 8 News

There have certainly been numerous challenges this year and the staff appreciates all the assistance that the Year 8 whanau has provided.
With home and school working in partnership, the students have blossomed in all areas. Whether developing collaboration skills or displaying independent work skills... we would like to congratulate all the students on the growth they have achieved in all areas of their schooling. Implementing our school values on a consistent basis has certainly helped with this.
Term 4 has seen us cover one of our most important units of work, which is the health unit titled “Challenges and Decision Making.” Hopefully, your child has shared the messages of these lessons with you. The session in the Life Bus about vaping was confounding. We all learned so much! Being able to talk to a support network about the pressures of puberty is an important strategy for your child to successfully navigate the challenges ahead.
The students will have mixed feelings as the year comes to a close. The Year 8 staff believe they are all ready for the next stage in their schooling. Implementing a growth mindset and can-do attitude will see your child make the most of all future opportunities.
Enjoy quality time together with family and friends over the festive season.
