Butterfly House

Last week Room 14 enjoyed an awesome afternoon at the 'Butterfly House' at the Otago Museum. This was a a great way to introduce our new 'habitat' focus as we work towards our Term 1 ASPIRE projects.
Sweltering temperatures greeted Room 14 at the Otago Museum's 'Butterfly House' last week. The rainforest environment of the Butterfly House was a great way to experience a new habitat, and discover some of the creatures that live in it.
We got to view a wide range of plants and creatures up close as we were lucky enough to see butterflies; quails; tarantulas; banana palms; turtles and much more.
Students are now starting to begin their ASPIRE inquiries and it's fair to say that a number of students will be choosing the rainforest as their habitat of choice!
Thank you to our wonderful parent helpers, you folk were awesome!
