Room 4's Aquarium Experience

This morning Room 4 students took part in a hands on learning experience at the Portobello Aquarium to kick start their 'Rocky Sea Shore' unit.
Room 4 thoroughly enjoyed their field trip to the amazing Portobello Aquarium this morning. This was a great way to kick-start our unit on the 'Rocky Shore'.
Students saw a range of different creatures in the 'touch tanks' including Camouflage Crabs; Starfish; Kina; Sea Urchins; and many more creatures. We also took part in the dissection of a Dogfish Shark. We were able to identify the gender, find out what it eats, and discuss its adaptations.
Thanks must go to the staff at the Aquarium and the awesome parent helpers that made the trip possible.
