Term 1 review

It has been a fast paced and action packed term. All of our Year 7 pupils have had an amazing first term immersing themselves into life at Balmac.
When we reflect on the many trips and experiences they have been involved in - Marae, Camp, Toitu visits as well as so many pupils learning new instruments, making new friends, understanding and displaying the school PERK values and demonstrating the Super 6 ....the new learning from our Year 7 pupils has been immense!
It was wonderful seeing so many of you at our Turangawaewae exhibit last Thursday - what we really enjoyed was the variety of the exhibit pieces. We loved seeing how the design brief was interpreted differently by everyone. A lot of effort and energy went into their first ASPIRE and we were thrilled with the process and the outcome.
I am sure you all have recognised how much growing and learning the Year 7 pupils have done over Term 1.
As always, so many of our programmes cannot happen without the support of our parent community, so thank you so very much for your support throughout the term.
We have planned a very hands on, science and technology based discovery unit of work for Term 2. If you have any interest, experience or knowledge in this area - please get in touch! We would love to have you on board!
Winter sports will begin within the first few weeks of Term 2, again, these cannot happen without your support. If you can help in any way, please get in touch.
