Covid Update

Firstly, thank you to everyone for such a great team effort over this term. Staff and students have all managed the challenges of Covid amazingly well. There's probably not many families who haven't been affected by Covid in some way, either directly or indirectly.

For your interest our current number of positive student cases since February 20 is 158. This represents around 30% of our roll.

We have also had 16 positve staff cases in that time. This represents 32% of our staff.

You will be aware of the change to Orange in the Covid Protection Framework. Ministry of Health and Education advice is that mask wearing is "strongly encouraged". Balmacewen supports this advice and will continue to encourage repsonsible mask wearing when indoors, especially as we move into seasonal cold and flu months.

It is possible that guidelines could be changed before we return for Term 2 and we will keep you posted if there is any new information.
