Summer Reading Programme

Students can sign up to take books (up to 15) home for the summer holidays.  "The Summer Slide" is  a well documented thing.  Some students who don't read all holidays come back to school, often having lost all the great progress they've made during the year.   We suggest reading for at least 20 minutes most days in order to stop this from happening.  Starting Year 8 therefore, becomes easier when they are not trying to make up lost ground.

Attached is a form parents need to read, sign and return, if they want their child to participate.  Forms will also be given out to students next week.   Of course there must be no overdues or unpaid fines on their accounts and all books must have been returned.  Books will be issued during the last week of term.
