Term 1 has kicked off, with students enthusiastically diving into a range of sporting activities. It has been an absolute thrill to see our students in action, giving their all in Touch, Futsal, Water Polo, Tennis, and Volleyball. It has been great to see students showing our school’s PERK values.
Touch
What a start it has been for our Touch teams. It has been even better that the weather has played it's part on a Thursday. The progression over the last couple of weeks has been amazing, well done to our students who have showed their determination and willingness to learn and grow their skills. A big shout out to our student refs who have been supporting our teams and doing a great job. The feedback from other schools has been truly amazing. Keep up the great work everyone.
Futsal
Our teams have displayed impressive footwork, quick decision-making, and strong team dynamics. It has been fantastic to see players encouraging each other, celebrating great plays, and learning from every match.
Water Polo
It has been great to see our waterpolo students push themselves, support their teammates, and show resilience in such a demanding sport. The progress made by our players in just a few weeks has been outstanding! We are looking forward to seeing this continue during the term.
Tennis
Tennis is back, we have had an amazing amount of interest. Whether students are beginners or experienced, they have all embraced the challenge and worked hard to improve their skills. Thank you to Hugo and Matt for running such great sessions for our students.
Volleyball
Volleyball continues to grow at Balmacewen. Students are loving the lunchtime and after school sessions run by Terry Tarapi. They are continuing to learn and develop skills to help grow their game. The aim is to get students to play in the term 4 competition held at the Edgar Center.
Students are reminded to please take responsibility for turning up to meetings at school and communicating with their coaches. This ensures they stay informed and prepared for their games and practices.
A big thank you to our parents who are taking their time to help a sports team this term. Your support is appreciated and makes a huge difference in the success of our teams.
Overall, Term 1 sport at Balmacewen Intermediate is off to a great start. The commitment and enthusiasm of our students is awesome. Watching them showcase our school’s PERK values both on and off the field has been a proud moment for our school community. We look forward to more exciting sporting moments in the coming weeks.
