Touch

With over 100 students wanting to play we have managed to place everyone in a team for the new term of competition. We have 9 teams (4 boys, 3 girls and 2 mixed) playing on a Thursday after school. We do have some spare spaces for girls if they wish to join and play in the girls grade.
A big thank-you to all the staff who are giving their time to be coaches, and we are lucky enough to have several ex-balmacewen students who are also coaching and refereeing our games.
The format has changed slightly this year at the oval with some social grades as well as the competitive grades. The teams play at the same time each week with mixed playing at 4.15pm and the boys & girls at 5.15pm.
We have a large group of enthusiastic players who are also learning about refereeing, and will officiate in the early rounds helping out with the junior games.
Congratulations to ex-Balmacewen students Jordan Hand and Sam Rowe who have been selected in the NZ U15 Mixed team to tour Australia, and to Berryn Abbott who was selected for the NZ Academy.
