Balmacewen win South Island Chess Champs - again!

Following on from their excellent result winning the Otago Intermediate School Chess Championships, the team travelled to Ashburton to contest the South Island Champs. This put them up against the best in the South Island especially the strong Christchurch schools.

Their result is impressive and continues Balmacewen's hold on the trophy. This is the third consecutive year we have won this event.
