Kiaora Year 8 Whanau
Term 4 is definitely a time for the students to consolidate the foundations required to springboard into their high school life. This will see the students being responsible for and directing their learning. Our units of work are based on the theme of Challenge.
This will see all students…
Fundraise towards the cost of the Challenge Day Out.
Visit the Life Education Bus.
Recap the “Understanding Changes at Puberty” unit.
Work as a team to complete the Class Lip Sync activity.
Complete activities from the Choice Unit which is facilitated by the Police Educator.
There are a lot of exciting and engaging activities planned. These include Challenge Day Out, Year 8 Social, Active8 Challenge, Year 8 Touch Tournament, and School Swim. Teachers are constantly referring to the expectations newsletter that came home at the end of the Term 3, reminding the students how important it is to keep applying a positive approach to both people and learning. A key focus is making mature decisions and respecting and considering others.
Each child has received an informational newsletter about the Challenge Day Out and we wish the students all the best in their fundraising endeavours. The Job Contract has been the most popular fundraising option and numerous parents have enjoyed their children completing odd jobs around the home. Keep working them hard!
