Kia ora koutou
It has been a very successful term. As usual, in so many areas, our students continue to achieve excellent results.
Teaching is a great profession where we are privileged to witness the tremendous growth of our students first hand. Learning and growth is different for everyone and the rate of development in children varies greatly for all children. Personally, some of the most inspiring stories come from students who have overcome obstacles in their learning and through determination and a growth mindset, show great improvement.
Our Balmac Super 6 provides an excellent base for promoting the characteristics of an independent learner. Growth mindset reminds us to have a positive view of our future potential. To see ourselves as learners who can always improve and learn new skills. It implies an optimistic "can do" attitude, no matter what your current ability may be.
Our role is to continue to foster this attitude and to encourage, motivate and celebrate progress and achievement.
There's no doubt that the students we see right now have grown considerably since the start of the year. It's hard not to be impressed by the sheer enthusiasm and energy our students display over a wide range of activities.
I've just enjoyed looking at Year 8 student projects along with a large number of interested parents. So many great examples of initiative and creativity on display. The planning, design and research that has gone into projects has been very impressive.
Congratulations to all students for making our school fun and enjoyable. Also a big thank you to our excellent staff for their ongoing support of our students.
The fourth term will be another busy and challenging time. I hope everyone enjoys a good holiday break and returns fit, well and raring to go for the final term.
As always don't hesitate to contact me if I can help in any way.
Kind Regards
Andrew Hunter
