Message from the Principal

Tenā koutou katoa
There's no doubt that the last 4 weeks have been different, challenging and unique in our lifetime.
Firstly, a special acknowledgement to all essential workers who have been at the forefront of Level 4, providing services to those who need it most. Thank you!
I have been very impressed with the response to online home learning. Teachers and students have found new ways to share and communicate whilst continuing to learn in the home environment. It certainly has been a learning process for everyone and it will, I'm sure, build skills for the future of school and education. Thank you to those who have shared their work in this newsletter.
All along our intention has been to provide some structure and learning each day with a variety of activities. Please remember that this should be manageable and relatively self driven. Please continue to support your child in their learning by asking about their tasks and helping them to be organised for meetings. If you have questions or concerns please email your teacher for advice and support, especially if it is causing any stress or worry for your child (or you!)
There is a definite feel that as a country we have done some "hard yards" and put a real dent in virus transmission. Internationally, we should all be very proud. Let's hope that the next 2 weeks in Level 3 we can finish what we've started and return to whatever our new normal might be!
I do look forward in the not too distant future to welcoming everybody back to school.
Stay safe and well.
