Year 7 Wrap up!
By Lisa Dixon | Posted: Monday April 11, 2022
This week students who had completed their first PBL project had the opportunity to share this with their class and then set up our Year 7 EXPO for all classes to visit and view the Turangawaewae exhibitions. We were so impressed by how students still managed to produce such high quality projects despite absences. From interactive models, artworks, movies, scratch projects, mine craft, co-spaces, halo AR - there were so many great examples of planning, learning new skills, time management and aiming high on display. We hope to share some of this learning with our parents via video, links to projects and photos shared to our parent community and whanua by teachers.
As part of this unit our Year 7 classes also completed an art work inspired by Nigel Brown - these are stunning and will be on display in our learning streets.
Many of our students have also kept busy being involved in extra curricula activities with music, choirs, Kapa Haka and numerous sports they have joined. It has been great to see how quickly the Year 7 group have transitioned into our school and are making the most of many opportunities they are presented.
Next term we begin with a focus on ANZAC day for literacy and our theme PBL projects will have a science based focus around the Living World and the Animal Kingdom.
The Easter break and holidays is a well timed break for all and I wish you all a safe and happy holiday. We look forward to seeing everyone back ready for Term Two. Thank you to our parents and community who continue to support their students and teachers both in and out of the classroom.
