Our Balmacewen Kapa Haka rōpū performed at this years 30th Polyfest last week during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. All students can be extremely proud of their efforts representing themselves, their whānau and our kura.

Poho kererū is a term used in Te Ao Māori which means to be full of pride. We are extremely proud of all the hard work from students, tutors and teachers over the last two terms.

A big mihi aroha of thanks to all our hard working staff supporting Te Ao Māori at Balmacewen Intermediate, Sue Mepham, Aaron Pitts, Jane Hendry, Jo Brusse. Johnny Appleby for writing our waiata (E Tū Kia Maia) Our Technology staff for helping with costumes. Our Teacher Aid support staff and office administration. Thank you to our photographers Brad and Mandy Phipps-Green. Lastly our tuākana tutors from Otago Boys and Girls High Schools for supporting our rangatahi with hair makeup and piupiu. It has truly been a team effort supporting such a large group this year. Mauri Ora!
