Kai for Octacan
By Lisa Dixon | Posted: Thursday June 10, 2021
This year the Octacan donations are being collected on the eve of the rising of Matariki - marking the Maori New Year, which is traditionally when harvested crops would have been shared. This will be on Thursday July 1st where the cans will be laid out into the shapes of the Matariki stars.
This year cans are being collected to re-stock the Family Works Foodbank as winter is a time when many need support to get through the winter hardships. We would like our community families and students to contribute to this appeal by Wednesday June 30th and then we will take a representative from our classes to deliver and lay out the cans collected by our students.
Please send cans along to school and boxes will be in the BLOCK ONE learning street.
