Balmacewen entered a team in the inaugural league competition held on a Tuesday after school.
16 Boys signed up for the 9 a-side competition that had 4 schools entered. A double round-robin over the 3 weeks saw some challenging games for the Balmac Boys. They had 3 wins from 6 games and got better with every game. On the final day they had a great game against Dunedin South where they come away with the win. Dunedin South hadn't lost a game until that one.
It was really good to have Jack Green - the Otago League Development officer come into school on a Friday and run a training session with boys.
The Balmacewen team showed some great sportsmanship with several players playing for another team that was short on the last day. Well done boys.
