Kia ora koutou
Thank you to our parent community for their support and patience this week as we have navigated the challenges of covid in our community.
The health and wellbeing of our children, staff and community is a top priority.
As we moved to phase 3 at midnight last night, the definition of close contacts has changed.
This means that only someone who has Covid-19, their household contacts, or household-like contacts will need to isolate.
If your child tests positive for Covid-19 they will need to isolate for 10 days. Please contact the school to let us know.
If your child is a household contact of a positive case, they will need to isolate until the positive household case completes 10 days. They will need to test on day 3 and day 10 of their household members 10 day isolation period, or if symptomatic.
If anyone in your family is confirmed as having COVID-19, you will be asked to notify your close contacts yourself. Please get in touch with us as soon as you can if your child has tested positive for COVID-19.
If your child is a close contact there is no requirement to isolate but you will need to self monitor for 10 days and test if symptomatic. If your child tests positive please let the school know.
We have also been notified that people who are currently self-isolating as close contacts and are not household contacts can stop isolating and return to school from tomorrow Friday 25 February if they are asymptomatic. They are not required to produce a negative test result.
If you have any questions or concerns please get in touch. We are here to help.
