Community Service Day

On Wednesday 12th September Room's 7,8 and 14 completed a community service day as part of our Impact topic focusing on our impact on our planet. We spent the day in Ross Creek, Leith Valley and around Woodhaugh Gardens cleaning and collecting rubbish.

It was a great day out. We left school and walked through Ross Creek collecting any rubbish we could find along the way as well as enjoying the beautiful spring weather and a chance to be out of the classroom and enjoy the fantastic Ross Creek reserve area.

We were very impressed with the attitude and willingness of the students to collect the rubbish we found and fill up our black bags. The day continued along the ditches of Leith Valley where rubbish accumulates and even retrieved rubbish that had been dumped into the Leith. This term has been a busy one for our students as we look for real problem solving solutions to our growing rubbish and plastic issues and think about how we can make a difference.
