Message from the Principal

Kia ora koutou katoa
There is so much to reflect on after a very busy and successful year.
It is a time of celebration and thanks as we farewell our Year 8 students and wish them well for their move to high school. Two years has certainly flown by and the young people we see leaving our school are vastly changed. I'm sure you'll agree, the difference is significant, hence the importance and value of Intermediate schools! It is a time a rapid physical, mental and emotional growth where young people are starting to develop important personal skills for the next phase in their lives. It's not always smooth sailing but experience is a great teacher and some of life's lessons are best learned early and often when things don't go exactly to plan!
I wish our departing Year 8's all the very best for next year and beyond. I look forward to watching their future achievements with interest.
To our Year 7's, thank you and I look forward seeing you back as school leaders next year!
A sincere thank you to the hard working staff of Balmacewen. The commitment shown on a daily basis is exceptional and makes our school a great place to work. Enjoy a well earned and restful holiday!
Thanks to you, our Balmacewen community, for your continued support. The support through camps, trips, sports teams is outstanding. Simply, we couldn't do what we do without you. A sincere thank you to you all.
Whatever Christmas and the holiday period means to you, I hope you enjoy some quality time with family and friends. Rest, relax and revive!
I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.
Kind Regards
Andrew Hunter
