Dear Parents and Caregivers
The Balmacewen Intermediate School Swimming Sports are being held on Friday 6th March at Moana Pool.
The school swimming sports are split into two categories; competitive and non-competitive. Most students will compete in competitive races, but there is a non-competitive option for those students who lack confidence in the water and are not confident swimmers. The non-competitive swimming session will be finished in time for all students to watch the finals and house relays.
The swimming sports will begin at 9.00 am sharp, therefore all students need to make their own arrangements to meet at the pool by 8.45 am. They need to get changed and sit in the stands with their class and their teacher will check the roll. The swimming sports should be finished by approximately 1 pm and all classes will walk back to school with their classroom teachers for lunch and afternoon class sessions.
All students will be allowed to wear their CORRECT PE gear (navy shorts, Balmac PE top, sports shoes and socks) to the pool and school for the day. They will not need to bring their uniforms.
It is recommended that all students have an extra big packed lunch on the day. They will not be able to use the vending machines at the pool.
Class teachers must be contacted at least a day in advance for anyone that isn’t swimming because they will remain at school for the day. It is also important because class teachers will be taking a roll at the pool on Friday morning.
Please remind your son/daughter that it may be a good idea to bring an extra towel or t-shirt to put on between races.
Please don’t hesitate to email your child’s teacher or myself if you have any concerns or questions.
Kind regards
Bella James, Hannah Cowie & Rowan Cooke
