Futsal Roundup - Term 1

All Balmacewen teams represented the school with enthusiasm and pride. We were lucky enough to have an amazing group of parent managers and fielded an impressive 15 teams in the Tuesday afternoon competition. The 3 girls’ teams and 12 boys’ teams competed across 8 divisions and achieved varying degrees of success. 

Balmac teams featured in 4 finals this term. The Balmac Sharks (Girls Y7&8 Division 1) won their grade on a count back after a 3-3 tie with DNI in the final. This was a particularly satisfying result as they had tied their final last season but were awarded second place based on a count back. This result meant that the Balmac has now won the top girls division 4 out of the last 5 seasons! The other teams who made the finals were the Balmac Orcas (Girls Y7&8 Division 2), Balmc Lions (Boys Y7 Division 1), and Balmac Ravens (Boys Y8 Div 2). The Orcas and Ravens both lost close games 1-2 and 1-3 respectively, while the Balmac Lions won a tight final 2-1. 

Regardless of the results it was a successful season and it was great to see the vast improvement in skill and teamwork by all teams across the 8 week competition. A huge thank you goes out to all the parent managers and helpers for turning up each week to support and motivate the teams. We look forward to another fun and successful season in term 4!
