Turning Paper into Trees
By Alex Buttery | Posted: Monday September 21, 2015
Over the past 3 years Balmacewen Students have been earning native trees by recycling their paper and plastics.
Thanks to Paper4trees, we can turn our waste paper and plastics into native trees for our school grounds. We simply recycle throughout the year and record our total amount.
Thanks to local sponsor The Otago Community Trust, and Ribbonwood Nurseries, we have planted over 100 native trees, flaxes and bushes around our school grounds.
The plants we earned from our recycling efforts from 2014 arrived last month and Mr Friend has been busy with some of the students from the Green Group planting them.
