Wearable Arts 2015

Over the last few months many of our students have been working hard in their own time to design make and create a design to enter into this years Wearable Arts.
Last night the show was amazing as students performed, danced and showcased their hard work in the following categories - Recycled, Under the Sea, Future and Fantasy, Song Titles and Glow in the Dark.
Yet again we were amazed at the imagination and ideas presented by the students as they brought their designs to life with a well written script set to music to match their designs.
We had invited guest judges - local artists Kerry McKay and Pamela Brown, along with Baydon Harris - technology and design teacher at St Hilda's.
I would like to congratulate all the students who took part - committing to complete the designs, taking on the challenge to be part of the show. I was so impressed with their enthusiasm and attitude over this week as we worked on the show. It all paid off to a packed audience last night who thoroughly enjoyed the show, Well done to Max Walker in particular who was the entertaining host of the show.
I would like to thank the other teachers who helped out - particularly Luke Herden on Music, Tom Rowe, Kelly Hunter and Charlotte Cooper backstage, Lauren Roney compere and co-organiser, Fergus McLean on lighting. Thanks to Mary Brady and Sara Quelch for the great stage design.
Well done to Carrin Gasper for getting the Overall Best is Show award for her design Lady of the Forest made out of bark and leaves.
