My happy place

This is my happy place. The sun rises slowly, the first few rays hit my skin causing an intense warmth to flow through my body. I can hear the excitement of the children’s laughter in the car park nearby. The birds chirp as they wake up for another busy day. I dip my toes into the water, and as I do goosebumps appear all over my body. The palm trees dance in the wind. Children build sandcastles to replace the ones erased by the thoughtless tides from the day before, delicately placing seashells into the fine sands of their creations making sure not to disturb its structure. The waves gently creep up on to the shore and as I take a deep breath of the salty air, I am reminded how lucky I am to be alive.
