Balmacewen Orchestra Workshop with Kaikorai Primary

Combining to play four pieces in a range of different styles the nearly 50 students worked positively and with enthusiasm to come together with a high level of musicianship.

After a great morning of rehearsing a short concert was presented to parents and some Kaikorai students of our four combined pieces as well as an individual item. A highlight of the concert was some sympathetic and stylistic playing by James on the drums and a skillfully improvised solo by Torin on the trumpet.

An absolutely fantastic morning of music making was had by all with another highlight being the hot chips and chocolate fish which completed the workshop. Well done to everyone who came along each week to rehearsals, working so hard all year, to make Orchestra an enjoyable experience while also sounding amazing!
