Year 8 News

Wow, this term is racing by! The touch festival has been the main focus this week, and the students have worked hard to implement positive people skills and teamwork into their games. Over the next 6 weeks, the students will be working extremely hard to complete the Challenge Units of work. These programmes will see the students utilise the numerous skills they have been developing over the last 2 years. From experience, our Term 4 programme reinforces the foundations required by your child to springboard into the next stage of their schooling.
There are a lot of fun activities planned. These include the Challenge Day Out, Class Day Out, Year 8 Social, and multiple Classroom Activities. Teachers are constantly referring to the expectations newsletter that came home at the start of the term which reminds the students how important it is to keep applying their best efforts.
Each child has received an informational newsletter about the Class Day Out and we wish the students all the best in their fundraising endeavours. With the students contributing to the cost of the day, it develops more of an appreciation for this fun day out.
Please note that Friday, the 13th of November, is both our Balmacewen Teacher Only Day and the Orientation Day for our local high schools. This will mean that the students will have to make their own way to and from the high school they will be attending next year. The high schools have made direct contact with all families and if you have any questions then please contact them.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to catching up with you on our class trips.
