Learning, trying, applying-adventures with tools.
In Hard Materials this year the Year Seven students are working with Acrylic plastic-picture frame, wood-coat of arms and aluminium-key ring.
The year 8 students are making wooden clocks and their choice for the second project.
We have had a group of students repairing/replacing wood trim in the maths room. They have been learning how to profile and cut wood using a plane, table saw, chisel, and router.
Two Year Eight students completed a ukulele stand for East Taieri PreSchool. This was a good project to develop an understanding of design, the importance of accurate measurement and tidy finishing skills.
