Kia Ora Parents and Caregivers
We extend a very warm welcome to all families and friends of our Year 8 Community.
The Year 8 teachers are excited and very much looking forward to the 2019 school year. We are all well rested and eager to build our class and school culture.
Our expectations for 2019 are that your child will…
Be a kind and caring class member
Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
Be an engaged learner
Take responsibility for their actions
Apply their best efforts
Within Year 8 we will use our school values and super six skills to both help and focus students in all learning situations. Implementing these attributes will ensure that these expectations will be met and that the students will achieve Personal Excellence.
Our first major unit focuses on building relationships. We will create a caring a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Our meet the teacher evening will be a great way for teachers to share their personal philosophies with you.
The start of the year is a time where we conduct a number of school trips, we will be visiting the museum and aquarium and your assistance with these activities would be very much appreciated. Newsletters will come home in the first week outlining your class trips.
We are all looking forward to working in partnership with you to ensure 2019 is your child’s best year of education.
