Columba and John McGlashan Winter Sports Exchange 

On Friday 7th August Balmacewen competed in a sports exchange with Columba and John McGlashan College. All teams were extremely competitive and fought hard in all sports.

Hockey

Boys - The boys had a close game eventually coming to a draw 2-2

Girls - The girls unfortunately went down by 1 to Columba in a close match 3-2

Basketball

Boys - Year 8 and Year 7 boys were very successful in the exchange with both winning their games. The year 8 team won convincingly 54-28 whilst the Year 7 team had a close game that they managed to grab in the closing minutes.

Girls - Year 7 and 8 were very successful both with convincing wins. They played high pressure basketball and were rewarded for their efforts. The Year 8 team won 53-9 and the Year 7 team won 44-32

Netball

Girls - Year 7 and 8 girls both had great wins. The Year 8 Gold team won 35-16 and the Year 7 Yellow team won 25- 8.

Football

The boys fielded a strong team to take on John McGlashan. Balmacewen had a convincing win 9-0.

Rugby

It was a close physical game between the two teams. Both teams shared equal possession but Balmacewen managed to come away with a late try to seal a hard fought win, 26-24.

It was a fantastic day for Balmacewen, taking out both exchanges overall. We would like to thank all teacher and parent support throughout the day. Below are photos and a short video. Enjoy!
