We had an amazing day at the Marae and we learnt so many new skills.
All the skills we learnt at our Mihi Whakatau were put into practice yesterday when we were welcomed on to Arai te Uru Marae.
All of us presented our MihiMihi which is an oral map of where we are from.
We split into 5 groups and rotated through a variety of activities that link to our Term 1 topic of Turangawaewae and identity/Belonging.
The activities were rakau (traditional martial arts), harakeke weaving, traditional story telling, mihimihi presentation and the story of Arai te Uru Marae. I
It was an awesome day and we all learnt something new and were proud of our efforts.
