Yellow & Gold Netball Team finish the season well

Both teams were victorious and it was a great outcome for Balmacewen to take out both the Year 7 & 8 sections.  Winning this tournament meant they both qualified for the Regional Tournament to be held in Balclutha.  At this tournament were the top 3 teams from the Dunedin and the Invercargill tournaments.  

It was difficult to play teams we had never played before and the girls got to experience the challenges of a tournament.  Both teams tracked really well throughout the day and qualified for their respective finals.  Unfortunately both finished second to their Invercargill counterparts.  The Year 7 section was taken out by Southland Girls and the Year 8 section was won by Hargest.

A fantastic day all round and again a lot of learning took place.

Special congratulations to Abby Harris and Gemma Rowcroft who were selected as the best Shooter and Mid-courter in the year 7 grade.  Brooke Callon was selected as the best Year 8 shooter for the year 8 grade. Well done to those three on their special selections and to both teams for representing Balmacewen superbly!!!
