Girls Kiwi Tag Competition

On Friday May 24th Balmacewen entered 2 teams in the inaugural Girls Kiwi Tag competition run by Otago Rugby League.
Over the past few weeks Troy Anstiss from Otago Rugby League has been taking the teams for some skills and drills. We had enough girls for 2 teams and we split them evenly into the Balmac Panthers and Balmac Bulldogs for the tournament.
Each team played 3 games in their pool, and won all 3. This meant the Panthers played the Bulldogs in the final. Both teams pulled out all stops and were playing their best game. Try for Try until Lorna managed to slip through the defence and score the winning try for the Bulldogs.
