Tēna koutou katoa
It doesn't seem that long ago that we were all pondering the immediate future of school and what life in lockdown would mean. There's no doubt we have faired considerably better in all measures than many countries. The fact that school looks and feels like normal is a great sign of recovery and our community's ability to cope with adversity.
I want to acknowledge the tremendous work of our Balmacewen staff throughout this time. Thank you to all staff for going above and beyond during lockdown and in the transition back to school. The return to school for the majority of our children has been smooth and enjoyable which has been great to see. I hope everyone enjoys a well earned and restful break over the next 2 weeks.
Next term will bring new learning opportunities and more extra curricular activities, especially sports. Our participation numbers continue to be high. Many thanks to staff and parents who have volunteered their time to support our sports teams. It's much appreciated.
Early next term you will receive your child's Mid Year Progress report. This will provide you with information in some key learning areas and also give good discussion points for Parent/Teacher interviews. Our goal is for 100% engagement at interviews. Please ensure you get in early to secure your preferred day and time.
All the best for a good and safe holiday break.
