Year 8 Fabrics - Aprons with a Screen Print
By Angela Burden | Posted: Wednesday May 25, 2022
Our brief was to design and create a double sided apron incorporating at least one screen print. Students also make decisions about their fabric choices and extra features, such as a pocket.
This PBL unit provides the opportunity for all students to become good learners. Each session they need to set and reflect on their learning goals. Demonstrations help guide and teach new skills and checklists are vital tools in our classroom when working with a learning partner. Giving and receiving quality feedback is also an important step on any learning journey. This is often when students think more deeply and make changes to their planning or go away and practise a skill to improve the quality of their practical work. Students who implement feedback and aim to do their personal best are rewarded with a functional and fabulous outcome. Many students can be proud of their mahi this term in Fabrics. Enjoy using your aprons!
