This was it (probably) my last shot my luck had bailed me out and had gave me this last shot. If I missed somone else would get the stuffed animal-it would ruin my reputation I would no longer be known as Dain the kid who knew alot about dinosaurs (which by the way is a very prestigious title) I would be known as Dain the kid who missed the easiest shot, my dignity shattered. But above all, I would lose my 6 hit streak, but it was risk I was willing to take. So I prayed to Zeus, Apollo and Artemis for glory. Fingers drenched with sweat I reached for the trigger. Lungs gasping, heart racing, brain screaming my finger pulled back and silence ensued. Suddenly an air splitting shriek of the bullet racing out of the barrel broke the silence and then the toy trembled that single string of tape shook and then...IT BROKE a tsunami of satisfaction washed over me-and that was the best moment of camp. He huff he huff “Casper on you’re right!” “Man down man down!” “Push them now they’ve been weakened!” Battle yell’s filling the combat zone, this is a story, a story of courage.
It was day three of the school trip at camp Waihola, oh how exciting this adventure was.
Cries of joy, cries of sadness, yells of confidence and of course … Screams of regret.
This is my perspective of how archery tag turned from a game, to a war.
I had always hated losing at the things I enjoy but with archery tag it was somewhat different. I had helped my teammates and heightened the chance of victory . PHWPEEEE went the whistle as the referee called everyone back into the the arena, a new round has begun. The Referee called ”Ready Set Go!” And we were off. I leaped at the arrows scooping them into my arms, the arrowheads felt soft and squishy. They both felt and looked like marshmallows, sharing out the arrows and then lunging to get behind the bunkers. Out of nowhere Frank yelled, “can we eat the arrowheads?””No of course not it's foam” I respond, and then of course he follows back with “but it looks yummy.”
As I pull back the string of the bow I feel tension build in my tricep and then I let the arrow fly, it soared through the air it was gonna hit! Until well my luck just is not that good somehow the enemy could predict the attack… my arrow was dodged.

Flashlights shone all around me, flickering in the dark. Shadows cast through all of the branches like a black sheet of paper blanketing everything in sight. My heart morphed into a drum as it exploded out of my chest. We were underneath a building—a perfect hiding place—as voices flowed into my ears all around me.
My eyes adjusted to the sudden light. The building was huge; so many support poles to hide behind, as well as a fence all around us with plants covering the gaps. There was a concrete pyramid in the middle of it all, and only a small entrance to sneak in. Thistles surrounded us as if they were saying ‘Keep out!’
They were so close to us now that it was actually getting scary. The suspense was slowly building up on me, ready to explode. The light got brighter and then: a tiny voice whispered “Found you” as disappointment filled the atmosphere around me. We crawled out of our hiding place, stumbling around in the dark. We ended up getting 4th out of everyone. We were so close, yet so far. Emerson
I shivered with excitement, my heart was in my mouth, adrenaline was pumping through my blood. I stumbled over to the gate feeling sick. I thought I was excited but now I'm just nervous. Fear is running through me. What if… what if it doesn't work. I get ready to go. It's now or never!
I'm flying, I feel like an albatross soaring over the sea. I sail smoothly over the tall green tree tops. I'm so high up, I never realized the forest could look this beautiful. I smiled. It was amazing. I can see the tires coming closer and closer. It's going to end no matter how much I don't want it to. I want to stay in this moment forever. I sped into the tires and rebound into John.
I can't wait to do it again! Alena
