School Speech Finals

This term all classes have written and presented speeches as part of our literacy programme. We were impressed with the diverse range of topics that engaged our students and the way they presented to their classes.
After presenting in class, students from each class went to a syndicate or Year group assembly and were then selected for the school finals. Congratulations to the following students who were selected for the finals - Year 8 - Finlay, Brooke, Henry and Lily and in Year 7 - Mackenzie, Jakob, Neve, Jack, Mateo, Torin and Raisa. Our judges for the final were Charlotte Hayward (Head of Junior English) and Rosie Joyce (Year 9 Dean) from Otago Girls High School. We thank them for their help with the difficult task of judging our finals and for giving up their time to do so.
Congratulations to Brooke for winning the Year 8 speech cup and to Mateo for winning the Year 7 speech cup.
